“Elden Ring” is ruling over the hearts of both new and old players, attracting them into the vast and mysterious world of the Lands Between.
While many have enjoyed the freedom to explore at their own pace, others have found the challenge of facing difficult bosses, intimidating, leading to moments of frustration.
But the game’s open-world design is crafted to give players to progress the storyline as they see fit, without being forced into anything until they feel ready.
This freedom has led to the discovery of hidden places and quests by old and experienced players, opening secrets that are only accessible to those who explore thoroughly.
Some of the Elden Ring hidden places are more challenging to find than others, requiring players to pay close attention to their surroundings and the subtle clues scattered throughout the game.
1. The Finger Ruins of Miyr
In “Shadow of the Erdtree” The Finger Ruins are one of the game’s most hidden places. There are three Finger Ruins in total, with two being easier to find if you go through the map thoroughly.
The Finger Ruins of Rhia can be found by heading to the eastern shores of the Cerulean Coast, where a secret path leads to the ruins. The Finger Ruins of Dheo, but can only be found after passing through the Shadow Keep and reaching the Hinterlands.
To go further, players need to talk to Count Ymir, who will give them an item to start the “bells” at these two Finger Ruins. The bells are located at the middle of each ruin, guarded by a shield of fingers.
Once activated, players should return to Count Ymir, reload the area, and connect with his throne to show a secret ladder leading to the Finger Ruins of Miyr. This eerie place leads to a final bell that, when rung, triggers a battle with one of the many secret bosses in the game.
2. The Garden of Deep Purple
The Garden of Deep Purple is a hidden location deep underground, where the Sleep Goddess St. Trina resides. To reach this place, players must descend the Coffin Fissure, where they will come across lore hinting at the relationship between Miquella and St. Trina.
At the bottom, they will find St. Trina in a beautiful violet garden. Thiollier, an NPC in the game, hints at the Garden’s location, but reaching it is not so easy. The place is protected by one of the game’s Remembrance bosses, making it one of the most difficult hidden places to find.
To find the Garden, players should head to the Cerulean Coast and travel to the south peninsula, where they will find a large hole in the ground.
Get into the Coffin Fissure, avoiding the various foes, until they reach a Site of Grace surrounded by critters. Then players must jump into an abyss to reach the boss arena and, after defeating the Putrescent Knight, they will find the Garden of Deep Purple.
3. Behind The Bestial Sanctum
The Bestial Sanctum is a hidden location that players can find early in the game through a portal in Limgrave. While the Sanctum itself is not difficult to find, the place behind it is more difficult to track down, requiring players to complete a short platforming puzzle.
This hidden area contains valuable items like the Cinquedea dagger and the Dragon crest Shield Talisman, which are some of the best early-game items.
To reach this place, players should head to the portal behind the Third Church of Marika in Limgrave, teleport to the Bestial Sanctum, and then follow the cliffside westward. They have to go through the platforms carefully and outcroppings to reach the hidden items below.
4. Sellia Hideaway
Sellia, Town of Sorcery, was once a flourishing place for sorcerers but has since fallen into decay. Above Sellia, the legendary Master Sorcerer Lusat resides in a diminished state.
Searching Sellia Hideaway, where Lusat is located, requires solving a puzzle involving an imaginary wall. Sorceress Sellen and a Merchant note provide hints to its location.
To locate Sellia Hideaway, players should start from the Church of the Plague Site of Grace and head north to the cliffs, where they will find a graveyard. The hidden entrance is behind a cliff wall near the main gravestone.
5. A Second Boss in the Black Knife Catacombs
The Black Knife Catacombs is a place to a secret second boss. After defeating the Cemetery Shade, players can find a hidden room containing the Black Knife Assassin, an essential part of Ranni’s questline. Many players miss this boss, thinking the dungeon is complete after defeating the Shade.
To find this secret boss, players should continue forward after the Cemetery Shade’s room, jump over a gap, and enter the second boss room to face the Black Knife Assassin.
