Black Myth: Wukong Chapter 4 leads players up to Webbed Ridge, a snowfield infested with insect Yaoguai and into the eerie realm of Webbed Ridge.
This chapter has a more linear structure than the previous two, although a large part of the area is sprawling underground and called Webbed Hollow.
Players will travel along the way meeting the hidden bosses like Yellow Loong and exploring the secret regions such as Purple Cloud Mountain.
1. Village of Lanxi Walkthrough
Grasshopper Guais, Puppet Spiders and Beetle Captains are some of the bug themed enemies you encounter on the journey starting at the Estate of Zhu, in the Village of Lanxi.
You need to kill the Second Sister, a spider themed foe, shortly after entering the village. She isn’t too difficult despite her intimidating tone. With help of your companion Goku Bajie and heavy attacks and spells you’ll be able to defeat her.
Once her match is all over, explore the village to obtain important things like the Celestial Jade Lotus Pill. Move down Webbed Hollow’s depths similar to Zhu Bajie.
2. Webbed Hollow Walkthrough
The largest area in Chapter 4 is Webbed Hollow. One large tunnel with lots of secret paths leading to items and hidden areas hidden in the labyrinth.
First navigate to the Upper Hollow Shrine and then walk through torch lit way. You’ll run into spider eggs that produce enemies, like the Grasshopper Guais as you go deeper. This area is huge but on the main route you’ll make faster progress.
Letting this chapter roll out until you hit this point, there’s one major one: Venom Daoist, an optional boss you have to fight twice on this chapter. In the area we call the Odd Cocoon, the first battle involves beating you out of him, destroying his arms and staggering him.
Eventually he takes enough damage, and flees, but you’ll see him again. Venomous Armguard will drop from defeating the Venom Daoist, and infecting enemies with poison.
3. Yellow Flowers Temple (Part One)
After the dark confines of Webbed Hollow, you leave for the bright Temple of Yellow Flowers to face new enemies, such as Sword Daoists and Snake Sheriffs.
First, we encounter this area by rolling down the Mountain Trail Shrine, ultimately you battle your way through courtyards full of Daoist enemies.
One of the parts you’ll go through Forest of Ferocity is where a little fight with Commander Beetle will take place. If you defeat him you can continue through the temple and unlock more shrines on your path.
4. Purple Cloud Mountain Walkthrough
The Chapter 4 Purple Cloud Mountain is an optional one, but highly suggested. An area of this visual impact, full of powerful boss fights and equally powerful loot.
You start with a Valley of Blooms Shrine followed with NPC interactions with the snake woman Hong Yi. Along the way, you’ll fight two bosses: Scorpionlord or Duskveil.
You can decide to skirt the Scorpionlord as he is somewhat of a nuisance, but you get good rewards in doing so, Stained Jade Gourd being one of them. This area has two stage final boss (you need to have befriended the Scorpionlord or he will assist you in the first stage): Duskveil.
But in the second phase, Duskveil is flechetier and has to be dodged carefully and powerful spells thrown to beat. After prevailing, you will have the Weaver’s Needle, a handy means of chasing and harmful enemies.
5. Part Two: Temple of Yellow Flowers
Once finished Purple Cloud Mountain, head back to the Court of Illumination Shrine, in the Temple of Yellow Flowers, to finish the chapter.
There’s a hint of events to come in a boss battle against Supreme Inspector which lasts only as long as a secret. The last challenge is simply the fight against a boss named the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master, which uses lightning and poison attacks.
This fight depends on weakening him with the Weaver’s Needle. This boss isn’t as difficult as the Yellow Loong, or the Scorpionlord, but it’s still tough. This completes Chapter 4; defeating him.
Conclusion
Black Myth: Wukong Chapter 4 gives a blend of unnerving settings, exact enemies, and interesting ways. Players will battle their way through the bug filled Village of Lanxi, the Purple Cloud Mountain and many others. As you progress through the game you will learn to master combat tactics and explore, and revolutionizes every corner.
