Black Myth: Wukong Chapter 3 Walkthrough

Black Myth: Wukong Chapter 3 Walkthrough

Black Myth: Wukong Chapter 3, White Snow, Ice Cold, is a huge and tough part of the game. Its size and complexity make it feel like one chapter in multiple places.

Increased difficulty courtesy boss fights that will ramp the difficulty even more after the Pagoda Realm, which is full of debuffs and is constantly a challenge.

Chapter 3 is divided into six key areas:

  1. Snowhill Path
  2. Pagoda Realm
  3. Bitter Lake
  4. Zodiac Village (optional)
  5. Valley of Ecstasy
  6. New Thunderclap Temple

Each of these sections presents its own unique challenges, so let’s dive into how to approach them.

1. Snowhill Path Walkthrough

At Snowhill Path, you begin the chapter, fighting trough frozen enemies as you climb a mountain. The first boss of the chapter, i.e., the Macaque Chief, is a warm up, you face that early on.

Defeating him, you then head up to a temple complex full of Frozen Corpses, and confront the new West’s Keeper. She’ll turn you into a Bat and lead you to the next place.

You reach the Mirrormere, too, save at a Keeper’s Shrine, then take on Kang-Jin Loong, a dragon boss. In this battle, you’ll learn that patience will win you this battle, usually from the dragon evading your attacks with flying in the air and summoning lightning bolts.

When she hits the icy lake, you’re going to want to attack her tail. With Immobilize, charged pillar and Thrust Stance, you can do the most damage.

2. Pagoda Realm Walkthrough

You defeat Kang-Jin Loong, awaken in the Pagoda Realm, infamous for the curse debuff you suffer in there. Combat becomes much, much harder, as every three minutes your maximum health is halved for one and a half minutes.

During this curse period, Lantern Warden appear and enemies get to hit harder and glow red. It’s hard to perform best, as you see Cyan Bats attacking from above the tight spaces of this multi leveled prison.

If you’re to progress, head to the Lower Pagoda Shrine then continue on the path to the upper level and meet Captain Lotus Vision. He shoots energy beams and projectiles, but if you can dodge carefully and pair it with well-timed attacks you will beat him and unlock the purple seals to open the doors.

These doors will give themselves to retreading, claiming the loot from them and the ability to become a two headed rat by means of the Ashen Slumber transformation.

Captain Wise-Voice, being a Yaoguai King, is the final boss of the Pagoda Realm. His attacks can be deadly based on his lightening, but attacking his legs and yellow core in the head would help you bring him down.

3. Bitter Lake Walkthrough

After clearing through the Pagoda Realm, you will head to Bitter Lake via Turtle Island where you will join Kang-Jin Star. Being this body instead of her dragon fight is easier for her to handle.

After defeating her she will be a companion, Zhu Baijie, who joins in battle. If you have the Loong Scale, there’s also an optional fight against Cyan Loong.

In your progression you face different chiefs such as Apramāṇa Bat and Chen Loong. In that case, you help Chen Loong which involves a quest to deliver the medicine of an earlier chapter, along with a Ruyi Scroll that unlocks the Painted Realm.

4. Valley of Ecstasy Walkthrough

The second is The Valley of Ecstasy. In this area, the main boss is Non-White, but you’ll battle them twice. However, his first fight is straightforward but his second appearance is crueler.

His attacks cause poison damage which need to be dodged carefully and hit precisely. Then, when you beat him, you’ll continue your climb up to the New Thunderclap Temple.

5. New Thunderclap Temple Walkthrough

The New Thunderclap Temple is Chapter 3’s last area, one filled with danger and opportunity. There are a lot of powerful enemies, blind monks and Clay Vajras, in the temple.

This is where you’ll encounter Non-Void if you’re following the fox side quest. Completing this quest will require you turning into fox form, and can be done by using the Snow Fox Brush.

Conclusion

Black Myth: Wukong Chapter 3 is an intense and multi-faceted experience. It’s huge, with its vast areas, formidable bosses and intricate mechanics, one of the biggest challenges in the game.

But all of that can be overcome with patience and care and with careful planning. The skills and strategies you’ll pick up on here will help you as you move on into the worlds of myth and magic in the later chapters.
